There is no mistaking that. It’s a hernia alright. If I couldn’t tell that after 20 years as a surgeon, there would be something wrong. How did you do it?

కేన్సరు కారణంగా ఆరు నెలల క్రితం నా ఎడమ మూత్ర పిండాన్ని తీయించుకున్నాను. ఐదు నెలల కీమో థెరపీని ఇటీవలే పూర్తి చేశాను. మొదటిలో బలహీనంగా, అలసటగా ఉండే వాడిని, బరువు కూడా తగ్గాను. బహుశః కొంత మెరుగు పడుతుండగా, కొంత ఎక్కువ చేసి ఉంటాను.

Sometimes after surgery there’s a weakness in the area around the incision and the intestine can pop out with some physical activity you are not used to. It’s nothing too serious but it will require surgery. By the way, who was your surgeon?

Pt 1

Well, there is a lump here on the left side of my stomach and it seems to pop in and out. I haven’t had any pain with it; it just feels a little uncomfortable sometimes and I was worried about it.

I had my left kidney removed because of the cancer six months ago. I’ve just finishes five months of chemotherapy. I felt very weak and tired at first and lost weight. So, I suppose when I started to feel better I just over did it.

Dr. Prasad from Campsie. He is a urologist and he did laparoscopic surgery to remove the kidney. He did a very good job.

I don’t really want to be recovering over Christmas. January would be better for me. I’ll be on holidays from work then.

ఔను, ఈ రోజులలో చాలా గిలక శస్త్ర చికిత్సలు లాప్రోస్కోపి ద్వారానే చేస్తారు. నేను మూడు చిన్న గాట్లు చేసి సర్జికల్ మెష్ వాడి గిలకను తొలగిస్తాను.

And how long will the operation take? …oh and how long will my recovery be?

శస్త్ర చికిత్సకు మూడు గంటల దాకా పడుతుంది. ఆ తర్వాత మీరు హాస్పిటల్ లో రెండు రోజులు ఉండాలి. సర్జరీ తర్వాత రెండు నెలల దాకా మీరు విశ్రాంతి తీసుకోవాలి.
